Nakamichi's SoundSpace 8 is a four-piece compact system consisting of a main console, two satellite-style speakers, and a powered subwoofer.The main unit includes a five-disc CD changer and an AM/FM tuner with 30 station presets. The CD changer uses Nakamichi's patented MusicBank changing mechanism, which is designed to avoid the pitfalls of traditional carousel and magazine designs. Functionality aside, the main unit is also visually striking, with silver or black finishes available.The two satellite speakers have dual 2-inch midrange drivers and a 1-inch tweeter. Cabinet construction allows quick wall-mounting, and an optional mounting bracket gives you the ability to adjust speaker angles with ease.The powered subwoofer has a 6-inch driver in a bass-reflex (vented) enclosure. Curiously, Nakamichi doesn't publish power specs for the any of the speakers in the SoundSpace 8, although the company insists that the subwoofer power is "optimal" for the system.Interface options on the main console include an optical digital output for connection to an MD recorder and stereo mini-jack input/output connectors located on the side panel.
